Instructions - Clenching Nails

1. Bore a pilot hole one drill bit size smaller than the clench nail shank. With the clenching iron bearing on the inner plank and angled over the hole, drive the nail with the flat side of the tapered shank facing across the grain.

2. When the nail point strikes the iron's curved face, rotate the clenching iron to force the tip into a "J" turn.

3. Finish with the clenching iron tight over the turned nail tip, driving it back into the wood.
